Activity 1 - Electric Charge (Q)

It an atom (or object) gains or loses electrons it becomes electrically charged.

Electric Current (I)

The rate that charge (Q) flows in a circuit.   Current is measured in amps (A). See this link to learn all about electric current

Potential Difference (∆V)

Potential difference is a measure of the energy (J) gained or lost per Colomb of charge (Q) when passing through a component in an electric circuit.  Click on this link to learn more about potential difference

Resistance

Resistance is a measure of the opposition to current in a circuit.  A component with a high resistance will resist current more and extract more energy (there will be a larger potential difference across the component) than a device with lower resistance.
